Pemaquid Girl

This performance and oral history project took place in Frenchtown, New Jersey, 2023, in fulfilment of the Veterans Voices artist residency with CoLAB, hosted by ArtYard. Over the span of one week, Bernie, a New Jersey resident and Vietnam veteran was interviewed. A script and musical score were created based off said interview. A cranky, a pre-digital visual story tool, was created with a 100ft+ scroll of collaged graphite rubbings, and was preformed for the general public. Pemaquid Girl, is an eight minute story based off of a two hour interview with Bernie, and it hopes to depict his love for music, compassion for humanity, and his frequent visits to a small cemetery on Pemaquid Point, Bristol, Maine.
